Interesting thing happened yesterday. I got a call from the Strategic Planning Office of the City of Loveland Colorado. It seems they came across some images of mine and wanted permission to use them in a bid to bring about 10,000 jobs to the area. Of course I said yes, because if they are able to win the bid it would be a huge boost to the local economy – i.e. everybody wins! This is one of the images they wanted:
[SinglePic not found]In total, I sent 10 images to the City Planning Office of the outside of the old HP facility here in Loveland. They wanted pictures on the inside too, but the current property manager wouldn’t allow me inside – some liability issue or something. I think they didn’t want to spend the time ushering me around while I took pictures, so they gave me this liability excuse, but then, they are not all that cooperative with potential buyers of the property either. Go figure!
I really hope the City is successful in this bid for multiple reasons: 1) a boost to the economy, 2) the property wouldn’t sit empty, 3) new jobs in Colorado, 4) housing prices would go up, 5) more people that need pictures
, and more… Good luck guys on the bid!

My guess is that it was a property right issue.
The owner of the property has the say so about photography (especially the interior of the building).
My guess is that the manager did not know if he had the authority to authorize photography of the property and didn’t want to waste time checking with the owners.
